Nursery & Day Care School
Familia Moja has built a local Nursery & Day Care School for 4-6 year old’s at our fully owned premises in Bwejuu, which serves the low-income village community.
We aim to provide quality education, helping our children to develop literacy & numeracy skills, social skills and physical well being through sport.
The school is open from 07:30-12:30 and will provide the children with hot porridge for break.
Health Program
All of the children who attend our Nursery & Day Care School will be provided with free access to medical, optical & dental care – 24/7, 365 days a year. If they are not at the school their caregivers simply call us and we collect them in our van, take them to the relevant medical facility, pay for their consultation and any treatment and then take them home.
Volunteering
We offer the opportunity to volunteer at our project in Bwejuu, which provides you with a meaningful way to assist us in the day-to-day delivery of the projects.
As a volunteer you’ll not only be make a worthwhile difference to the successful running of the projects but will get a chance to experience the local culture first hand.
The volunteers are accommodated at our Guest house adjoining the Nursery & Day Care School. It’s all part of the same site but fenced off to ensure you have a quiet space to rest, relax and share experiences with other volunteers and guests in the evening and weekends and offers convenient and safe accommodation at a reasonable price.
There will always be a member of staff to help you with any needs you may have – whether asking questions about the project, advice on local restaurants, bars and nightlife, trips to go on or just arranging transport.
In order to volunteer you must be at least 18 years old and able to stay at least 2 weeks.
We expect volunteers to be creative in their teaching methods, and very willing to help children learn and grow. Proactivity and respect for the local culture are also required.
